Special Educational Needs and Disabilities - SEND

At Rothwell Victoria Junior School, we strive to meet the needs of all pupils within our school. All staff are aware of SEND within the school and receive high quality information and training. We aim to quickly identify pupils who are making limited progress and provide targeted interventions and support to meet their needs. We ensure that parents and carers are fully aware of the SEND process and informed of their child’s learning at regular points throughout the year. We are a fully inclusive school and work alongside the Local Authority, Health Professionals and community organisations to find the most appropriate and effective support for pupils within our care.

The SENCo and Subject Leaders support staff in ensuring an inclusive curriculum for all pupils. Please click here and look at each subject page to see the advice about the support and strategies that enable children to be included and supported in each curriculum subject.

Parents of children with SEND can get impartial information and advice from SENDIASS. Further information can be found here. SENDIASS also run workshops which parents can access. Information about the workshops can be found here.

For parents and carers of children with autism, or those who are considering an autism assessment, the Leeds STARS team offer consultations and workshops to provide parents/carers with advice and support. Further information can be found here
